Coastal Retreat
A weekend house 200 metres from the shoreline, designed for a corrosive salt-air environment.
Building this close to the sea changes every specification. The frame uses corrosion-resistant reinforcement with increased cover, all external hardware is marine-grade stainless, and the envelope is detailed to shed wind-driven rain rather than merely resist it. Drawings are approved and piling is scheduled to begin next quarter.
